Today wrapped the final episode of The Wendy Williams Show, not including a goodbye from Wendy Williams. And her ex-husband Kevin Hunter had some thoughts about the finale.
In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, “I feel like it is a travesty on the part of Debmar-Mercury to have such an unceremonious departure without Wendy being involved.”
“I feel like it is a travesty on the part of Debmar-Mercury to have such an unceremonious departure without Wendy being involved. There is absolutely no reason why a bigger celebration that involved Wendy couldn’t happen.”
Hunter, 50, shares son Kevin Hunter Jr. with Wendy Williams and was fired as an executive producer one week after she filed for divorce in 2019.
He adds, “I know the blood, sweat, and tears that went into making the show such a success, [and] I am not happy with the way the show is going out on a personal level. And I am truly sorry that the show’s fans have to see it go down the way that it is.”
The Wendy Williams Show is wrapping at 13 seasons, and Williams, 57, did not appear in the show’s finale Friday. However, the show aired a series of montages showing Williams’ greatest moments before signing off officially.
The Sherri Shepherd show will succeed in The Wendy Williams Show’s place and begin airing in September.
