Dan Gatsby‘s daughter is not here for Whoopi Goldberg or anyone else critiquing her father’s new relationship.
The family fell under censure after her father opened up about moving his new girlfriend into the home where his wife, B. Smith, struggled with Alzheimer’s disease. On the latest episode of The View, Whoopi was cheerless about Gasby’s ”new normal,” referring to B as a friend. “I didn’t want to see B look like that,” stated Goldberg. “I didn’t need to see that.”
In response, Dana Gasby, 32, explained her step mother’s condition and condemned ”fraudulent friends” like Whoopi and others, who are judging but aren’t doing anything to contribute to Smith’s disease.
“These fraudulent friends know nothing. I have not seen them here,” Dana, who relocated back home three years ago to take care of Smith, said. “They don’t call my family. I see them talking on TV and how do you know what your supposed ‘friend’ would want?”
Though she said she supports the relationship between her dad and Alex, his girlfriend, she questioned why Goldberg didn’t, asking if it’s “because you’re getting older and not happy with your health or whatever and you decide it’s not ok? Guess what—this is what aging is.”
