A nostalgic reboot of one of the most popular 90’s shows looks like it on the way. According to ‘The Hollywood Reporter,’ Will Smith is overseeing the development of a new “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” spinoff series.
Westbrook Inc., which is his entertainment company, confirmed the spinoff along with very few details about what it will entail. Reports say that it will be based on the original series.
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith launched the company together, with its intended purpose being that the, “Cross-platform holding company is designed to expand the Smith family brand beyond film and TV into new media, technology and even merchandising.”
The original “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” show ran for six seasons between 1990 and 1996 and can now be streamed on Netflix.
In fact, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the successful actor, “Still earns hefty royalties from the 1990s NBC sitcom, now licensed to air in 193 territories.”
