Rising Florida rapper YNW Melly, real name Jamell Demons, has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the October 2018 shooting deaths of his two close friends, Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr.
Miramar police say Melly shot Thomas and Williams dead and then, with the help of another man, tried to make it look like they had been the victims of a drive-by shooting. Police did not disclose where in South Florida the two men were shot but according to a news release issued by Miramar police, Cortlen Henry was the driver of the Jeep, used to stage a drive-by, and Demons was the one who shot and killed Williams and Thomas. Henry has also been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. YNW Melly’s took to his official Instagram and issued a statement saying he was turning himself in.
