Young Thug didn’t hold his tongue, seemingly making it clear that his feelings toward Gunna haven’t changed since the fallout surrounding the YSL RICO case.
On Monday night, Thug appeared to take a direct shot at his former collaborator on Twitter after Gunna shared a reflective Instagram post about loyalty, betrayal, and maintaining a “good heart.” Reacting to the message, Thug tweeted, “N***a acting like he the victim, lol,” a brief comment that quickly caught traction and reignited conversation around their strained relationship.
The post Thug was appeared to be responding to came as Gunna announced his arrival on the West Coast for his ongoing tour. In a lengthy caption, the “Last Wun” rapper spoke about perseverance and staying true despite feeling abandoned.
“The real flex is keeping a good heart when life keeps giving you reasons not to. When you been lied to, used, switched up on, and counted out… but you still show love. You still got loyalty in you. Still show up for people, even when nobody showed up for you. That’s rare. That’s powerful. Cause this world will test you, drain you, and try to turn you cold… and if you still moving with good intention after everything you been through, you got the kind of heart they can’t find twice,” he wrote.
Tension between the two artists has lingered since 2022, when Gunna took a plea deal in the YSL RICO case while Thug remained behind bars. Although Thug briefly surprised fans by removing a diss aimed at Gunna from his feature on Lil Baby’s “The Leaks,” leaked versions of the song originally included the line, “Only reason I f**ked with you Gunna, it was cause of Troup.”
Despite that moment, Thug has been clear that a full reconciliation is unlikely.
