Quavo has confirmed that a Takeoff album is in the works, giving fans new hope that they will hear more music from the late Migos rapper. During a recent interview, Quavo revealed that he has multiple projects planned, including another solo album, new Migos music, and a separate project dedicated to his late nephew.

Speaking with Power 106, Quavo made it clear that he has no plans to slow down following his latest release.“This album is just the beginning. This album just opening up the vault. We not finished. I got another album coming right after. I got the guys coming. Of course, we going to cook up the Migos project. And we working on Take project too.”
His latest comments are particularly meaningful for Takeoff fans, who have been waiting for more information about the rapper’s unreleased music since his death in November 2022.
The Takeoff album has been discussed before, but Quavo’s latest statement suggests those plans remain active. Quavo shared an Instagram Story in April 2026 outlining several projects, including a Takeoff album, another “Unc & Phew” collaboration, and what appeared to be a final Migos release.
Although Quavo has now publicly reaffirmed the project, he has not announced a release date, official title, tracklist, or featured artists. It also remains unclear how much previously unheard material will appear on the finished album.
Takeoff, born Kirshnik Khari Ball, released his debut solo album, “The Last Rocket,” on November 2, 2018. The 12-track project featured songs including “Last Memory,” “Casper,” and “Infatuation.” The album allowed Takeoff to showcase his individual artistry outside of Migos, with his intricate flows and technical rapping taking center stage.
A new Takeoff album would mark his first solo full-length release since “The Last Rocket” and could introduce listeners to another side of the music he created before his passing.
There is also a substantial collection of unreleased recordings to consider. Quavo previously told Rolling Stone that approximately 1,000 unreleased songs featuring Takeoff existed. In May 2025, Quavo released “Dope Boy Phone,” which featured a posthumous verse from his late nephew.
Their musical chemistry was well established before Takeoff’s death. The two released their collaborative album, “Only Built for Infinity Links,” in October 2022 under the name Unc & Phew. Featuring records such as “Hotel Lobby” and “Messy,” the project arrived less than a month before Takeoff was fatally shot in Houston at age 28.
Quavo has continued honoring Takeoff through his own music, particularly on his second solo album, “Rocket Power,” released in August 2023. The 18-track album served as a tribute to his nephew and featured Takeoff’s vocals on “Patty Cake” and “Back Where It Begins.”
The deeply personal project explored grief, family, and the challenges of moving forward after losing someone so close. It also established how important preserving Takeoff’s legacy had become to Quavo’s music.
His most recent solo album, “QRÖMELIFE,” arrived on October 2, 2026. The 14-track project was executive produced by Pharrell Williams and featured appearances from Future, T.I., Lil Baby, Tyler, The Creator, A$AP Rocky, Justin Timberlake, Yung Miami, and Offset.
Offset’s appearance on “Away” was especially significant because it marked another step toward reuniting the surviving members of Migos.
Quavo previously confirmed plans for a final Migos album and a possible tour with Offset. In a September interview with Atlanta’s V-103, he discussed bringing the group’s music back for another chapter.
In a separate interview with the Associated Press, Quavo explained that he and Offset were actively working on new material. He also discussed the possibility of incorporating Takeoff’s existing recordings into the Migos project while ensuring the music honors his legacy and benefits his estate.
For now, the Takeoff album, another Quavo solo release, and a new Migos project are all in development, with release schedules still unconfirmed. The biggest development is that Quavo continues to move forward with plans to give Takeoff’s unreleased music another opportunity to be heard.
