Quavo has finally confirmed one of the biggest questions surrounding his private life: he is officially a father to a baby girl.

After nearly two years of speculation, the Atlanta rapper opened up about fatherhood during a new interview with Noah Callahan Bever for Complex’s “Idea Generation”, confirming that his daughter is his first child and explaining how becoming a dad has changed his outlook on life.
“It’s a blessing that God gave me,” Quavo said during the conversation. “It brings joy to me. It brings a new light. It brings a new reason why I’m doing this. It brings a new hunger, a new fire to me.”
Quavo also spoke about the smaller moments that have made fatherhood meaningful, including seeing his daughter smile, hearing her call him dad, and watching the rest of his family embrace her.
The confirmation arrived alongside the rollout for his upcoming solo album, “Qrömelife,” which is scheduled to arrive October 2. Quavo also revealed his daughter in a short film connected to the project. The film looks back at different chapters of his career and life, including the death of his nephew and Migos groupmate Takeoff, before eventually showing Quavo holding his daughter.
For longtime fans, however, the Quavo daughter reveal answers a question that has been floating around since 2024.
The first widely documented wave of speculation surfaced in October 2024 after Quavo posted a video that appeared to show him boarding a private jet. The seemingly routine clip took a different turn when viewers heard what sounded like an infant crying in the background.
Quavo subsequently deleted the post, but copies had already begun circulating online. Social media users quickly started questioning whether the rapper had quietly become a father.
Some viewers also believed they could see part of a child’s car seat in the video. That observation, combined with the crying heard in the background and Quavo deleting the post, fueled theories that he was traveling with a baby.
At the time, none of that amounted to confirmation.
The speculation soon became connected to Erica Fontaine, the former West Virginia University gymnast who had previously been romantically linked to Quavo. Their connection had already attracted attention in July 2023 when they attended an Usher concert together in Las Vegas. Usher approached the pair during his residency and asked Quavo for permission to serenade Fontaine, referring to her as Quavo’s lady.
By October 2024, online speculation increasingly identified Fontaine as the possible mother of the child heard in Quavo’s video. Still, neither Quavo nor Fontaine publicly confirmed that they shared a child, and credible reporting at the time treated the claim as a rumor rather than fact.
The baby speculation did not disappear after that initial viral moment. Instead, the unanswered question followed Quavo because he continued keeping that portion of his personal life away from public discussion.
That makes the September 2026 Quavo daughter reveal significant because it marks the first time the rapper himself has publicly discussed being a father in clear terms.
The speculation briefly intensified again this week before his interview was published.
On September 28, Quavo released the “Qrömelife” short film. The film ends with Quavo waking up and holding a baby girl after sequences reflecting on his career, Migos, Takeoff’s death, and the creation of his new album.

The appearance immediately revived the secret baby conversation. While the visual strongly suggested that Quavo was introducing his daughter, the accompanying “Idea Generation” interview removed the remaining ambiguity when he directly described himself as a father and talked about his daughter.
Fontaine shared an image of herself with the child on her Instagram Stories following the album teaser. However, Quavo has not publicly disclosed his daughter’s name or exact age in the reporting available as of September 29.
Reports have connected the child to Fontaine, but the strongest confirmed information currently comes directly from Quavo: he has a daughter, she is his first child, and fatherhood has become an important part of his life.
That confirmation also puts the timeline into perspective. Despite years of public interest in Quavo’s relationships, the documented rumors that he had secretly become a father do not stretch back throughout his entire career. The identifiable trail begins in October 2024 with the deleted private jet clip and continues through subsequent coverage that repeatedly described the child claims as speculation.
Now, nearly two years after fans first heard that baby crying in the background, Quavo is no longer leaving his status as a father up for debate.
