Rich Paul is not trying to play referee, but he clearly wants Drake and LeBron James to find their way back to a real conversation.

Speaking on a recent episode of “Game Over with Max Kellerman and Rich Paul,” LeBron’s longtime agent addressed the rumored tension between Drake and the NBA giant while reacting to Drake’s new album “ICEMAN.”
“I don’t get into that stuff, man,” the Klutch Sports CEO remarked. “At the end of the day, I think it’s important for adults to really reconcile down the road and stay out of that… I don’t get involved in any of that… For me, it’s just about allowing time to pass and hopefully, people can reconcile their differences. I do think, in any situation, it’s important to remove the middle man. Conversations continue to get stirred up, people got opinions and agendas and different things like that. Over time, you have to let two people have an adult conversation, if it’s able to get there. Hopefully, people reconcile their differences.”
The tension follows “ICEMAN,” where the Toronto rapper appears to aim bars at LeBron after months of fan speculation about their fractured friendship. That fallout cuts deeper because Drake and LeBron were once publicly close. Drake appeared on LeBron and Maverick Carter’s HBO series The Shop in 2018, where LeBron gave him career advice about keeping honest people around him.
Things shifted after Kendrick Lamar’s battle with Drake exploded in 2024. LeBron attended Kendrick’s The Pop Out concert in Los Angeles, where several NBA stars were also in the building, and he was later seen showing support for Kendrick’s music. For fans, that was enough to turn a friendship into a loyalty debate.
Max Kellerman also praised Drake during the Game Over discussion, while Paul said he has been “the best music artist for the last 15 years.”
Still, Drake’s lyrics did not sound ready for peace. On “Make Them Remember,” he rapped, “I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena / Because you always made your career off of switching teams up,” before adding, “Please stop asking about what’s going on with 23 and me / I’m a real n***a and he’s not, it’s in my DNA.”
For now, Rich Paul is preaching distance, time, and no middlemen. Whether Drake and LeBron actually pick up the phone is the real headline.
