Russell Wilson and Ciara are expanding their empire with a new business venture in entertainment, “Why Not You Productions.”
The Wilsons officially announced their plans in a joint statement on Monday. Through scripted and unscripted film, television and digital content projects, the power couple plans to tell “inspiring and aspiring narratives and human interest stories.”
“While we work in different fields in our day-to-day, we are excited to come together to collaborate and create stories that we hope will touch people’s lives,” Wilson and Ciara said in a joint statement. “We are both storytellers at heart, and we want to be able to share stories that uplift people and inspire others to create positive change. That’s ultimately what we want this company to represent.”
According to Hollywood Reporter, the production company will be an extension of the couple’s youth empowerment-based, “Why Not You Foundation” as well their entertainment record label and brand management company.
“For us, we want to be able to create, create, create,” Wilson added.
2019 is off to a great start in business for the Wilsons. Russell signed a four-year $140 million extension deal with the Seattle Seahawks earlier this month, making him the highest paid player in the NFL.
