Claressa Shields Warns Chrisean Rock to Stay Away From Blueface

The champ never says his name on camera. She did not have to, because she reposted the clip herself with two words

Claressa Chrisean Blueface

Claressa Shields told Chrisean Rock to stay away from Blueface during their first training session together, and when the clip started traveling she went to X and reposted it with a comment: “I’m just saying.”

Claressa Responding About Blueface

Claressa never says Blueface’s name in the footage. She tells Chrisean to stay away from him, tells her not to set herself up for it, and says flatly that the people around her will create drama and violence. Chrisean’s response is to say she does not, three times, which is the reaction of someone who knows exactly who is being discussed. Claressa’s answer to that is short. She knows. She says they are insane.

Video

Five days before the two women got in the gym, Blueface admitted on a livestream that he had cheated on his pregnant girlfriend Nevaeh Akira with Chrisean. That admission came a day after the pair turned up at the same boat party in Los Angeles on July 20, where Chrisean confronted him on camera about the fact that he has publicly denied being the father of their nearly three year old son. Blueface laughed the question off, complimented her, and steered the conversation elsewhere. Chrisean later said the beef is not over until he claims his child. Blueface had denied paternity back in March and pointed at her late ex boyfriend as the father. On July 17, days before the admission, he had told Nevaeh on another stream that he had no intention of cheating on her. She is due August 24.

So Claressa Shields was not offering an abstract warning about bad company. She was telling a fighter she had just agreed to train that the loudest ongoing story in her life is the thing standing between her and a boxing career, and she said it on a stream where it was guaranteed to get out.

Claressa Shields spends most of the clip giving Chrisean media advice rather than boxing advice. Her framing is that whenever she sets out to make content, there is always something in the room working against it, and that the fighter is the one who decides what the room becomes. “Control the narrative,” she says, and then says it again. She tells Chrisean that people will always try to pull her back down when she moves up, and that the instinct to meet that energy head on, to say you want the smoke, is the trap. That is a woman who has spent a decade as the best in her sport while watching other stories get more attention than her fights, and it is the closest thing to a thesis in the whole video.

The session itself was three months in the making. Chrisean Rock won her professional boxing debut on April 25, taking a split decision over Zenith Zion in a three round crossover bout, fighting under the name Holy Hands. Claressa Shields posted a video message for her right after, called it a proud moment, said Chrisean has been through a lot in public view, and offered to train her. That offer sat until Saturday.

Chrisean is 26, from West Baltimore, and best known for four seasons on Zeus Network’s Baddies. She has been chasing physical outlets for a while, including a stint as a running back with the Cali War in the Women’s Football Alliance in 2024. Boxing is the first one that has produced a real record.

Claressa Shields has her own deadline. She is 31, out of Flint, undisputed heavyweight champion and a five division world champion, and on August 15 she fights unified WBC and WBA middleweight champion Kaye Scott at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on DAZN. She will be the first woman to headline that building. To do it she is dropping back down to 160 pounds, a cut she has publicly described as about twenty pounds off her heavyweight frame.

In the clip she gives Chrisean a bigger number. After complimenting her outfit and telling her that a woman never shows her weight, Claressa says she lost forty pounds. The two figures are not in conflict. The twenty is what she has to shed to make the middleweight limit. The forty appears to be measured from where she was at her heaviest during her heavyweight run, which included winning that title in February 2025 and defending it twice.

What makes the whole thing land is the repost. Claressa Shields could have let the clip circulate and stayed quiet, and the warning would have stayed a matter of interpretation. Instead she attached herself to the version that names Blueface directly, in the middle of a week where he admitted to cheating on a pregnant girlfriend with the woman Claressa had just taken into her gym. Chrisean has said the conflict ends when he claims their son. Claressa Shields appears to think it ends earlier than that.
