Serayah is no longer keeping the details of her breakup with Joey Bada$$ behind closed doors.

Hours after announcing that their engagement was over, the actress and singer returned to her Instagram Story with an emotional video directly addressing Joey and explaining why she was ready to air out what she says happened throughout their relationship. This time, Serayah went beyond the carefully worded statement she initially released and made it clear that her frustration had reached another level.In the video, Serayah said:
“I am so f**king upset, and I don’t know if one day I’ll regret this, but right now, I don’t regret it, because this person has been a literal piece of s**t to me in private, and not even in private because a lot of people publicly know, family knows, and everything. But this person proposes to me, wants to build a life with me, has me move my life out here, cheats on me. I find out, and continuously he’s telling me that he doesn’t want that life, he wants me, da da da, then proceeds to be out with people, and yes, I have my receipts.”
Serayah also posted screenshots to her Instagram Story that she presented as receipts supporting her allegations. The screenshots appeared to show Joey communicating about plans to link with another woman. While Serayah clearly presented the messages as evidence connected to the situation she was describing, Baller Alert has not independently authenticated the private messages or confirmed whether the planned meetup actually occurred.
The latest posts dramatically expand on the breakup announcement Serayah shared earlier Monday. Serayah announced on August 24 that she had ended both her engagement and relationship with Joey, whom she shares a son with. In that statement, she alleged there had been “repeated infidelity throughout our relationship, including during some of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments of my life.”
The accusations hit differently considering how publicly serious the Serayah Joey Bada$$ relationship had become. The two originally met at a mutual friend’s gathering in 2021 before becoming close and eventually romantic. Dating speculation intensified after Serayah starred opposite Joey in his 2023 “Show Me” video, and Joey publicly confirmed their relationship in June 2023.
By 2025, the relationship had moved into an entirely different chapter. Serayah revealed her pregnancy while walking in an Adore Me show during New York Fashion Week in February 2025. It was Serayah’s first child, while Joey was already a father from a previous relationship. The couple later revealed they were expecting a boy.
During a May 2025 Essence cover story, Serayah and Joey spoke openly about preparing to raise their son and building a family home in New York. Joey also addressed his previously public embrace of polyamory and said his relationship with Serayah had changed his perspective.
“So I’m very much monogamous now,” he told the outlet.
Their family grew in 2025, and Serayah later publicly confirmed both motherhood and her engagement. Serayah shared a two-month postpartum update in July 2025 that included her engagement ring and referred to Joey as her fiancé. She also praised his support during her postpartum experience, calling him “a good man” and saying he had “held it down.”
There had been signs of public tension before their engagement. A viral 2024 video showed Serayah visibly emotional during a conversation with Joey on Sunset Boulevard. Joey told Cam Newton that people had jumped to conclusions about what they witnessed and said the couple had simply been going through a disagreement. He later emphasized the importance of growth within their relationship and spoke publicly about building a strong Black family structure.
Serayah’s latest comments make clear that, from her perspective, there is no reconciliation to discuss right now. The line about there being “no podcast he can get on” appears to shut down the possibility that a future interview or public explanation from Joey will change her decision.
Joey has not publicly addressed her allegations.
What started as a composed breakup announcement has now become a far more personal public fallout. Serayah is not only alleging that infidelity repeatedly occurred while they were building a family, but she is also now posting what she says are receipts and making it clear that she does not want any confusion about where their relationship stands.
