Shilo Sanders, a new player trying to earn a spot on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team, got kicked out of a game after hitting another player.

It happened during the team’s final warm-up game before the regular season, against the Buffalo Bills. After a short pass play was over, Sanders was being pushed hard by a much bigger player named Zach Davidson. Sanders didn’t like the way he was being shoved and ended up punching Davidson in the helmet.

Referees immediately stopped the game and removed Sanders for breaking the rules. In football, fighting is not allowed, and hitting another player means an automatic ejection.

Right after Sanders left the field, the other team scored a touchdown. It was a rough ending to what was supposed to be his chance to impress coaches.

After the game, Tampa Bay’s head coach, Todd Bowles, said, “You can’t throw punches in this league. I mean, that’s inexcusable. They’re gonna get you every time. Gotta grow from that.”

Sanders had only played a few games with the team and made three tackles. He’s now waiting to find out if he will officially make the team or be let go.

Shilo, who is 25 years old, is the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. This preseason was his first taste of NFL action, and now it’s unclear what’s next for him.
