Dwyane Wade has confirmed that he is a father for the third time. Speaking to reporters before the Miami Heat faced the Denver Nuggets on Dec. 30, 2013, Wade said the baby boy was born during a break in his relationship with Gabrielle Union. According to ABC News, the couple got engaged on Dec. 21, and Union had not publicly addressed the baby news at the time.
Wade did not name the baby’s mother. Guesses about her identity started almost right away, and one name making the rounds online was a woman named Sandrina. Sources tell Baller Alert that guess is wrong, but neither Wade nor the woman has confirmed anything, so every name floating around right now is speculation. Baller Alert’s sources would only say that the mother is a Los Angeles native who has kept quiet and that she and Wade have known each other for a long time.
Wade described the baby as a blessing that came out of a painful stretch in his life. He added that he has always tried to be there for his kids, and that part of his life is not changing. “I’m moving on,” he told reporters.
For now the facts are simple. The baby is here, Wade is happy to be a dad again, and the mother’s identity is still unconfirmed. We will let you know if that changes.
