Former NFL Star Stedman Bailey Allegedly Turned A Florida Mall Arcade Into A Sex Spot Before Cops Pulled Up

Former NFL wide receiver Stedman Bailey is facing an indecent exposure charge after police said he and a woman were seen engaging in sexual activity inside a Florida mall arcade. According to Local 10, Pembroke Pines police arrested Bailey and Karina Manderson following the alleged incident at Round1 inside Pembroke Lakes Mall.

Police said officers responded to the business shortly before 12:30 a.m. on July 27 after receiving reports that two customers were allegedly having sex near the establishment’s bar. Per the police account provided to Local 10, investigators reviewed surveillance footage and interviewed at least one witness who said the pair had been engaging in intercourse before they were confronted and asked to stop.

The footage allegedly showed Manderson “leaned over at the waist” while Bailey stood behind her, according to police. The witness reportedly told investigators that Bailey pulled up his pants after being confronted and that the two slowly walked away from the bar area. The arrest followed officers’ interviews with both people and their review of the footage.

Police said Bailey acknowledged that “they both had their pants down” and admitted that he was exposed. However, he maintained that “penetration never took place.” Investigators also reported that Bailey and Manderson said they had consumed several shots of alcohol before the alleged encounter. Bailey reportedly attributed his behavior to being intoxicated.

Manderson told officers that she could not remember everything that happened, according to the police account. She reportedly admitted that she had consumed too much alcohol and said even one shot of tequila could make her intoxicated. Investigators said they found no evidence indicating that either person’s drink had been tampered with.

Local 10 reported that Bailey and Manderson were both arrested later that morning and charged with indecent exposure. The allegations described by police remain accusations, and the available report did not indicate that either person had been convicted in connection with the incident. The Stedman Bailey arrest has drawn added attention because of his previous career in professional football and the traumatic circumstances that ended his time on the field.

The St. Louis Rams selected Bailey with the 92nd overall pick in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. The former West Virginia standout played three seasons with the organization, recording 59 receptions for 843 yards and two receiving touchdowns. He also contributed as a runner and return specialist during his NFL career.

Bailey’s playing career changed dramatically after he was shot in Miami Gardens in November 2015. According to CBS Miami, gunmen fired more than 30 rounds into a vehicle carrying Bailey, his cousin and two children. A family member told the outlet that Bailey was struck twice in the head, while his cousin was shot multiple times as he attempted to protect the children.

CBS Miami reported that Bailey underwent extensive surgery and was initially hospitalized in critical but stable condition. The children were not injured. Bailey survived the attack, but he never returned to an NFL regular season game. His football story became one of survival and an attempt to rebuild life after an act of violence abruptly interrupted a promising athletic career.

The arrest now places the former receiver in a very different spotlight. What began as a late night visit to a mall entertainment venue has developed into a criminal case involving surveillance footage, witness statements and conflicting accounts about what occurred. The final outcome will depend on how prosecutors evaluate the evidence and how the allegations move through the court system.
