SZA and Justin Bieber have finally teamed up to give fans a live performance of “Snooze.”

On Friday, during night two of Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s Grand National Tour in Los Angeles, she surprised the crowd by bringing out Bieber for a heartfelt duet of their Grammy-winning track. The moment was as intimate as it was iconic. In fan footage, SZA tenderly held Bieber’s chin while he sweetly kissed her hand.

Bieber’s appearance comes after his quiet retreat from the stage. Two years ago, he canceled his Justice World Tour following a Ramsay Hunt Syndrome diagnosis, which left part of his face paralyzed. But with recent moves hinting at a comeback, including reaching out for features in April, this performance might be a sign that the Biebs is ready to step back into the spotlight.

This wasn’t Bieber’s first live go at “Snooze.” Back in February, he performed it at a private NHL All-Star event with SZA in attendance.

SZA shared her appreciation for Bieber in a 2023 interview with WSJ Magazine, saying, “Him and Hailey [Bieber] were randomly the first people to hit me on FaceTime after SOS dropped. [Bieber] showed up [at the ‘Snooze’ video shoot] and he was down as f**k for the whole day, and didn’t trip about nothing.”

The night before, SZA brought out Lizzo to perform their remix of “Special,” marking Lizzo’s “first stadium performance.”
