One day after reports that actress Tasha Smith had her marriage annulled, her former husband Keith has responded publicly.
Keith posted a video and a series of messages on Facebook. In the video, he said his name is being slandered online and that the things being said about him in the media are untrue. He said he is the father of five grown children who love him, and that an appeal is coming. In his words, “in the end I will prevail.”
He also pointed to Tasha appearing on The Wendy Williams Show and praising him weeks before the split, saying people should read between the lines and that the truth has to be checked.
Keith also shared a longer open letter. In it, he said he loved Tasha deeply, described the past year as a spiritual challenge, said he has been lied about in public, and said he chooses not to live in bitterness. He closed by saying he is ending the year at peace and promoted a book he wrote.
This post does not include a response from Tasha. Earlier reports from TheGrio and TMZ said she had the marriage annulled after learning Keith had been married several times before. Those claims are his to answer, and he says they are not true.
