Tekashi69 is reportedly preparing to be released from prison earlier than expected.
Back in January, 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy and others related to firearms and narcotics, Uproxx reports. He is scheduled to be sentenced in 2020, where he initially faced 47 years in prison. However, now the social media rapper’s attorney has plans to get him out of jail before September and avoid his racketeering trial completely.
Tekashi’s former manager, Shotti, recently pleaded guilty to racketeering charges amid Tekashi calling out gang members he was affiliated with in the Trey Nine gangsters. While the rapper may get off on his own charges, others involved are set to confront their charges in September. Reports show Tekashi’s attorney is looking for all the members to take a plea deal the same way the rapper did, which would mean no trial would be needed.
If all the members accept plea deals, the trial would be cancelled, and Tekashi’s lawyer would ask the judge to grant Tekashi time served. According to Uproxx, time would be considered served as the rapper has been in custody since November. Should the judge grant that request, Tekashi would be a free man because he “fulfilled his obligations under his cooperation agreement with authorities.”
So far, 6ix9ine’s associate and Nine Trey gang leader Jamel Jones, aka Mel Murda, pleaded guilty to racketeering and drug charges.
