Uk Thang Kroger Shooting

A mass shooter who opened fire in a Tennessee Kroger has been identified as a former employee.

Police say 29-year-old Uk Thang worked as a third-party sushi vendor inside of the grocery store in Collierville. He arrived at the store on Thursday around 1:30 p.m. and opened fire inside. The shooting left 15 people injured and one victim, Olivia King, dead. As law enforcement arrived at the store, Thang shot and killed himself.

While authorities haven’t provided a motive for the rampage, Kroger employee Lawanda Clark says she overheard store supervisors talking about firing Thang the night before the killing spree. Clark said that the managers had to “walk the guy out yesterday morning.” She says that Thang did not want to be escorted out but left after his manager threatened to call the police. While employed at the store, Clark says that Thang did not like people to speak to him and would only talk occasionally to the other sushi vendor employees. She claims that significant signs were missed, which could have saved lives.

“This guy, he showed signs something wasn’t right. We should never turn a blind eye to something like that,” she stated.

Several others described the man as being quiet. Juanita Ford, a neighbor who lived above him in his apartment complex, said that she only saw Thang in passing, but he kept to himself most times.

“He never talked to anybody,” the 66-year-old stated.

Investigators say Thang had no violent criminal history.

And they still don’t care about making more strict gun laws. This is the only country that will let maniacs run wild with enough fire power for one person to take out a police station.
