The Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez drama has taken a new turn, with his team now looking into a possible plea deal.

Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta confirmed to Rolling Stone that the legal teams for both artists were in “possible settlement discussion.”

If a plea deal is not reached by November 3rd, preliminary hearings will be held in December, with witnesses called to testify about Lanez’s alleged shooting of the “Body” rapper in July 2020 following an argument.

Despite a plea agreement being on the table, Lanez’s attorney, Shawn Holley, maintains his client’s innocence and will work to prove that if the case goes to trial.

“As in every case, the lawyers for the parties discuss the possibility of resolving the case,” Holley said before adding, “Our position as to what did and did not happen in this matter remains unchanged.”

Lanez was charged in October with felony assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered gun in the vehicle on that fateful night that shook the hip-hop community. He has pleaded not guilty and said multiple times that he never pulled the trigger. However, Megan has stood firm in her stance that the crooner shot her as she tried to exit the SUV they were riding in.

If the case goes to trial, Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, could face a maximum of 22 years in prison.
