Since the outbreak, the topic of traveling has been a controversial one. While health officials continue to urge Americans not to travel, many can not help but book trips considering how cheap the price to fly currently is.

On Wednesday, America set another pandemic record when the third-busiest day for US air travel since March hit — about 1.2 million.

The second-busiest day was the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

According to The Transportation Security Administration, reported by CNN, over 1.1 million people were screened at airports nationwide on Saturday.

With frequent reminders to not or at least limit travel, Dr. Anthony Fauci finds these high numbers “concerning.”

According to CNN, “air travel has spiked over the past week when US air travel numbers hit near or more than a million passengers for six straight days. TSA numbers show that about 9 million people were screened at TSA checkpoints since the holiday rush began December 18.”

Similar to the increase in cases after Thanksgiving, health experts worry that this pattern might repeat itself after the holiday season.
