Donald Trump swore to a rally crowd that he never married his sister, telling supporters he was “never particularly attracted” to either of his sisters.
Video:
Trump recalled being asked whether he had married his sister and said his answer was, “No, I haven’t.” Then he said it again. “I swear, I swear. I did not marry my sister,” he told the crowd.
He then named his only living sister. “I have one left, Elizabeth. She’s great. But I have not,” Trump said. “I never proposed to them.”
He kept going. “They’re beautiful, but I was never particularly attracted to either of them,” he said.
Trump grew up with two sisters. Elizabeth Trump Grau, a retired banking executive who rarely appears in public, is now his only living sibling. His older sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, a former federal appeals court judge, died in 2023. Their brothers, Fred Trump Jr. and Robert Trump, have also passed away.
The clip does not make clear who asked Trump whether he married his sister. He has made this comparison before. At a December 2025 rally in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, Trump accused Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar of marrying her brother to get into the country, then asked the crowd to imagine if Donald Trump had married his sister. Omar has called the claim absolutely false and ridiculous.

The claim about Omar resurfaced this month. Homeland Security Investigations agents searched her Washington area home on October 12 as part of a criminal investigation. Omar has not been charged with a crime, the search warrant remains sealed, and the Justice Department has not publicly said what the investigation is about.
