His read on Kai is that he was never really done, that he was, in Akademiks’ words, being a little tenderoni about the whole thing, and that he is in love with the girl and always was.The advice is where it got interesting, because Akademiks dropped the smirk for a minute. He told Kai he did not care if Kai hated him for saying it, then laid out his position: being back with her is fine, but she needs to be off camera. He said she is too visible in the content, that the stream is the Kai Cenat show and needs to stay that way, and that Kai should tell her to fall back from the videos entirely. “Let me tell you this,” he said, before telling Kai to have her “play the background.”
He also made a point of framing it as experience rather than lecture. He said he was not talking to Kai as some big baller player, he was telling him about mistakes he made himself, and told him to “learn from me.” His rule was simple: when you are filming, do your thing, and when you are with her, keep it private.He told Kai that keeping her off camera is how he will find out who she really is, because in his experience women who want the camera reveal themselves eventually.
Context for anybody who missed December. Kai announced he was single on X on December 27, posting that he would never be in another relationship again. That post ran up tens of millions of views and turned into one of the biggest internet stories of the holiday. Within days a tweet went viral claiming Gigi had cheated with NBA YoungBoy and naming Akademiks as the source, and it picked up millions of views on its own. Akademiks went on stream and shot it down, saying he never said it, that the account made it up, and that he does not lie about anything because he would stand on it and show proof if he did. Gigi called the tweet fake news as well and said she was the one who ended the relationship. The claim was never substantiated by anyone.
That history is what makes this clip land the way it does, because Akademiks referenced those same accusations while talking about the reunion, which is a whole different posture than the one he took in December when his name was attached to them.Kai has not addressed any of it. Neither has Gigi.
