USA Gymnastics and the hundreds of survivors of convicted sex offender and former Michigan State University physician, Larry Nassar, have proposed a settlement worth $425 million that could finally resolve the case.
In a filing in bankruptcy court on Tuesday, the USA Gymnastics and the survivors’ committee have jointly raised the settlement, which still needs to be approved by creditors and a near majority of Nassar’s nearly 500 accusers.
The agreement is part of the USA Gymnastics’ reorganization plan and a proposed resolution to Nassar’s sex abuse case. The disgraced former doctor for USA Gymnastics is currently serving up to 175 years in prison.
