On Thursday, Laura Helm, one of Usher’s herpes accusers, dropped her lawyer in the $20 million suit against the singer. According to TMZ, Helm’s lawyer, Lisa West, filed docs to withdraw from the case, saying she is unable to “effectively represent” her client. In layman’s terms, West got the boot.
As a result, sources say Helm is rethinking the entire suit, where she claims she had unprotected sex with the singer and contracted an STD. However, Helm’s claims were recently compromised when reports surfaced of a phone conversation, where she claimed the two always used condoms.
In the meantime, the singer’s attorney has filed a motion to dismiss, to which Helm has a few days to respond.
