A grand jury has indicted the Walmart truck driver involved in the 2014 New Jersey Turnpike crash that left comedian Tracy Morgan critically injured and killed his friend and fellow comedian James McNair, according to People and other outlets.
Kevin, 35, was charged on Wednesday with aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide and eight counts of aggravated assault, according to reports. Investigators allege he had been awake for about 28 hours before the crash and failed to slow down despite signs warning of slow traffic ahead. The charges are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven otherwise in court.
Morgan spent months in recovery and physical therapy after the wreck. His assistant Jeffrey Milea and comedians Harris Stanton and Ardie Fuqua were also hurt in the crash.
We are keeping everyone affected by this tragedy in our thoughts as the case moves forward.
