Hold onto your wigs and your favorite Vanessa Carlton CD, because the moment we’ve all been waiting for might finally be on the horizon. For years, fans have been begging for a sequel to the 2004 cult classic “White Chicks”, and now, the Wayans brothers are confirming that they are ready to make it happen, but there is a specific catch involved.
During a recent red carpet appearance, Marlon and Shawn opened up about the relentless energy fans bring when asking about the movie. Marlon laughed about how intense the demands get, saying, “These people don’t play about ‘White Chicks. You know who’d be acting crazy? ‘White Chicks’. Like, ‘Are you gonna do it or not?’ And we’re like, ‘Bro, calm down.'”
While the duo is clearly on board, the green light for “White Chicks 2” depends heavily on the performance of their next big release. Shawn stated, “If this movie does well, our ‘White Chicks 2’ can happen.”
The project they are referring to is “Scary Movie 6,” which is scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 5th. It appears the brothers are using the upcoming parody installment as a test to see if the world could still handle their signature style of comedy.
The excitement reached another level when franchise veteran Anna Faris weighed in, revealing that she has already tried to secure a spot in the potential sequel. Faris joked that she has been campaigning for a role, saying, “I’ve, like, pitched myself for the movie.” While Marlon teased that her star power might exceed their current budget, Shawn joked that they would just “pay her less” to make it work.
The fate of Marcus and Kevin Copeland going back undercover is now essentially in the hands of the audience. Marlon assured everyone that they will be the first to know when the deal is sealed, stating, “When we do ‘White Chicks 2’, we’re coming to you!”
Until then, the instructions are clear, if you want to see the Wilson sisters back in action, you need to show up for their next project. “Go see ‘Scary Movie 6’ in theaters June 5th,” Shawn urged. “Check it out!”
