Basketball Wives LA returns Monday, September 10, on VH1, and one of the new faces is Brooke Bailey. Here’s what we know about her so far.
Brooke is a Los Angeles native who says she fell into the entertainment business by chance. A casting director spotted her dancing at a party and handed her a business card. That was on a Friday, and by Monday she was shooting her first music video, Beenie Man’s song featuring Janet Jackson.
From there, she kept working. She has appeared in a string of music videos, including Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop,” and was one of the first people cast for MTV’s Punk’d. She was one of Busta Rhymes’ dancers at the 2006 BET Awards, appeared in a commercial with Snoop Dogg and graced the cover of Lowrider magazine with Ice Cube. Reality fans may also remember her from E!’s “Candy Girls.”
So what’s her basketball connection? Back in 2010, Bossip reported that Brooke was linked to NBA veteran Rashard Lewis at a time when he was engaged. Neither of them confirmed a relationship. On the new season, the VH1 trailer shows her dating former Detroit Pistons forward Vernon Macklin, who is now playing overseas.
Brooke has said she wants to do more than videos, and she has been hosting parties and building her brand. If the trailer is any hint, she isn’t afraid of confrontation either, so expect her to bring some drama to the new season.
We hope to get her on the record ourselves soon. Until then, we’ll be watching.
