Tay Keith Remembered: The Producer’s Undeniable Hits That Make A Fourth Of July Day Party Unforgettable

Tay Keith was found dead inside his Nashville apartment, an update that has added a new layer of mystery of this tragedy.

Metro Nashville Police confirmed that the Grammy-nominated producer, was found in his Martin Street apartment Thursday afternoon during a welfare check. According to officers who discovered his body, no foul play is suspected. While social media has already begun speculating, his official cause of death has not yet been determined.

Police have not released who requested the welfare check, what prompted concern, or when Tay Keith was last heard from before officers arrived. That leaves the public timeline limited for now. What has been confirmed is that investigators are not treating the scene as suspicious at this stage.

The news stunned the music world, especially because Tay Keith was still actively working. His final Instagram post, dated May 7, promoted Chris Brown’s “Call Your Name,” featuring Sexyy Red and GloRilla. It was another reminder of how deeply his sound remained tied to mainstream rap and R&B.

Born in South Memphis, Tay Keith became one of hip-hop’s most recognizable producers through his hard-hitting drums and instantly identifiable tag. He helped produce Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” which earned him Grammy recognition, and his credits included work connected to Drake, BlocBoy JB, Cardi B, Eminem, Beyoncé, Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, Sexyy Red, Offset, and Key Glock.

His rise also carried a Tennessee college story. Chambers graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in December 2018 with degrees in integrated studies and media management, finishing school while his career was taking off.

As fans and colleagues mourn his shocking passing, more details are sure to emerge in the coming days.
