Salt N Pepa’s Pepa found herself in the middle of a social media storm in May 2018 after a birthday tribute to her boyfriend drew a public response from a woman who says she is his wife.
On Monday, May 7, Pepa shared a photo on Instagram of herself and her boyfriend, Aundre, sharing a meal. “Happy Birthday weekend to my man and #MCM @iamAundre keep pushing and being a good dad. God will handle the rest. No matter what, I’m here! #RideOrDie,” she wrote.
The next day, a woman named Jordyn, who says she is married to Aundre, posted a screenshot of Pepa’s message on her own Instagram page. According to BET and Fox News, which reported on the post, Jordyn criticized the relationship and questioned the caption’s praise of Aundre as a father. Her post also made several personal claims about Aundre. Those claims are her own, they come from a private individual on social media, and Baller Alert has not independently verified them, so we are not repeating them here.
Atlanta Black Star reported that Pepa limited comments on her post after the response went viral. We had not seen a public statement from Aundre addressing the woman’s claims at the time of publishing.
