Maurice “Ant Jefe” Shelmon, one of the newer faces attached to the No Jumper universe, is now sitting behind bars after being arrested by the LAPD on a felony murder charge. According to TMZ, the rapper and podcast cohost was taken into custody by the department’s elite Robbery-Homicide Division and is currently being held on $1 million bail.
The arrest immediately sent shockwaves through the online hip hop media space, especially because Ant Jefe had become a recognizable personality on “No Jumper” over the last year. He regularly appeared alongside Adam22, Bricc Baby, Lush One and other rotating hosts tied to the platform’s street-focused discussions, rap commentary and viral interviews. Clips featuring Ant Jefe frequently circulated across YouTube, Instagram and X, helping him build a growing audience outside of music.
Adam22 reacted publicly to the news in a statement to TMZ, saying, “[Ant has] been a great podcaster for the last year or so and as far as I knew, he wasn’t really in the streets like that anymore, so this was all a huge shock.”
Outside the podcast world, Ant Jefe also built his name through rap releases centered on life in South Central Los Angeles. His interviews and appearances often touched on gang culture, street politics and personal growth, which made the arrest hit even harder for viewers who believed he had shifted focus toward media and entertainment.
As of now, LAPD has not publicly released additional details about the alleged murder case or the circumstances surrounding the arrest. The investigation remains ongoing.
