Dame Dash Says The Breakfast Club Is Lining Him Up And Wants To Know Why Nobody Covers His Wins

Dame Dash posted a video accusing “The Breakfast Club” of amplifying only the negative parts of his life while ignoring everything going right, and he named co-host Loren LaRosa directly. He said his girlfriend called him in the middle of a meeting to forward him a clip from the show, and that the segment was about his bankruptcy.

His version of what happened in court is this: they defaulted his bankruptcy, they will not let him go bankrupt, they do not believe him. He said nobody reported that. He also said nobody has reported anything about “OG Stories,” his BET series, while what “The Breakfast Club” did cover was the time he asked his own daughter for money.

 

Here is where a fact check has to come in, because his claim about the case is not something anyone else has confirmed. Dame Dash filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on September 4, 2025 in Florida, listing more than $25 million in debt against $4,350 in personal assets, which included $100 in cash, a cell phone, some clothing and two firearms. The bulk of what he owes is to the government, roughly $19 million across New York state, the IRS, Los Angeles County and New Jersey, plus more than $647,000 in domestic support obligations to former partners including Rachel Roy and Cindy Morales.

Since that filing, attorney Christopher Brown, representing multiple judgment creditors, has been working to keep specific debts from being wiped out. Brown argued that roughly $4.8 million in court ordered judgments cannot be discharged, pointing to filmmaker Josh Webber’s defamation win, which started at $823,000 in 2022 and grew to a $4 million default judgment. His legal theory is that bankruptcy does not erase debts arising from willful injury. Brown also filed asking that Dash disclose his life story rights as an asset, and accused him of filing only to slow down collection. In October, a federal magistrate judge ruled that public auction of Poppington LLC’s films and copyrights, plus assets already assigned to the U.S. Marshal before September 4, could proceed despite the bankruptcy.

So there is an active fight over whether he gets a discharge. Whether a court has actually entered a default against him, which is what he says happened, is not something that has surfaced in any reporting. Take that part as his account until the docket says otherwise.

The show is real, though, and that part of his complaint holds up better than people might assume. “OG Stories” premiered on BET on June 17 and airs Wednesdays at 11 PM. Dash created, hosts and directs it through The Dash Group LLC, and it is the first installment of what he is calling “My Paid in Full.” The premiere featured Michelle Smalls, the Harlem author, real estate broker and business owner known as the Queen of Harlem. Later episodes feature celebrity defense attorney Dawn Florio, who has represented Tekashi 6ix9ine and Lil Tjay, actor and Harlem native Jay Black, and Steve Mack, Dash’s childhood friend and longtime collaborator on ventures including Beat 139 and Roc-A-Fella. All the names he shouts out at the end of his video are people who are actually on the show.
His pitch for it is that these are not celebrities. He told AllHipHop the difference is that these are his actual friends, people who sleep at his house and argue with him, not subjects he cold called. He said the show is showing the great, godly part of these people rather than the devil perspective.

The video gets pointed when he turns to LaRosa. He first refers to her as the dark-skinned chick from “The Breakfast Club,” then names her a minute later and asks why she is the voice of everything bad and nothing good. He asks why a Black woman would want to amplify bad stuff about Black people but not amplify anything good about a Black man, and calls it a case study in stupidity or alleged devil worship.

The colorism in how he opened is going to be the thing people talk about, and reasonably so. It is also worth noting that his central complaint, the imbalance, is one plenty of people in this business make. The difference is he made it while leading with a description of a woman’s complexion instead of her byline.

On the money question itself, he did not really answer it. He asked out loud whether he is broke or not broke, said people are going to keep talking about things they consider negative that he considers part of business, and said he will deal with what he has to deal with because it is part of the game. Then came the line he seems most attached to, that bad people are always going to try to make good people look like they are not doing the right thing.

This is not his first round with the show. In September 2025, days after the bankruptcy filing, he sat down with “The Breakfast Clu” for an interview that went sideways fast, trading insults with Charlamagne Tha God, who called him Debt Dash on air. Afterward Dash said publicly that he intended to sue the show for defamation. He also said in that interview that he filed for bankruptcy specifically to stop people from suing him, and that the filing frees him to sue whoever he wants while they cannot come at him, telling the room to put a seat belt on and watch how it plays out.

He closed the new video the way he closes most things lately, with a plug. “OG Stories,” eleven o’clock, ratings through the roof. BET has not released viewership figures, so that number is his.
