Young Thug is making rounds on social media once again, but this time it isn’t for his music or choice of style.

New bodycam footage from a February 20, 2026, traffic stop in Miami has surfaced, showing the Atlanta rapper being pulled over for allegedly doing 83 mph in a 45 mph zone.
To make matters worse, the rapper was behind the wheel with a suspended license. Despite the excessive speed and the licensing issue, both of which are often grounds for an immediate arrest, the officer on the scene decided to take a much calmer approach.
The officer explained the situation clearly while handing over a citation, saying, “Listen, you’re getting a citation. You are going 83, all right? That’s critical so you can be arrested. I’m not giving you a ticket for that. Um, I’m just giving… Your license is suspended. Yeah, it says uh yeah. It says from, I wrote down here, uh, 11-24-25 financial responsibilities. Financial? Yeah, maybe child support or um insurance. I’m not sure. So yeah, I’m not giving you a ticket. Listen, you could be arrested for that, so get that taken care of.”
This brush with the law is particularly heavy considering Thug is currently serving a lengthy probation sentence following his massive YSL RICO plea deal. Any interaction with law enforcement carries the weight of a potential probation violation, which could have sent him straight back to jail.
Ultimately, the officer’s decision to issue a warning and a citation allowed Thug to walk away. However, the rapper had to switch seats, letting the passenger take over.
