Anyone in need of a career change? Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, is setting the bar pretty high with recruitment efforts by showing people the money, literally.
In 2018, Amazon offered its U.S. employees an opportunity to start their own small Amazon Prime delivery business. But, there was only one problem, out of the thousands of employees who applied, a majority couldn’t afford the startup money to launch the business endeavor. But now, in an effort to launch their own independent delivery service apart from postal giants like UPS and FedEx, Amazon will offer employees $10,000, plus three months of their existing Amazon salary to help get their businesses off the ground.
Who would have thought a major corporation would be committed to making sure interested employees have a chance at entrepreneurship? Since starting the delivery service, complete with Amazon-branded delivery vans and uniforms, the company plans to work with hundreds of independent delivery contractors to fulfill the overwhelming amount of shipment requests through its local sorting centers. Ideally, hiring the very employees who want to take the company up on this amazing offer.
