New Music Friday is here, and three Southern rappers are making sure the speakers stay busy. Nino Breeze is delivering unfiltered street stories on “Non-Fiction,” speaking exclusively with Baller Alert about the essence of this EP.
The Florida star is keeping things short and direct with “Non-Fiction.” Released through MMG and Gamma, the six-track EP clocks in at just 13 minutes, but there’s plenty of gems packed into its brief runtime. The project opens with “Cover 2” before moving into “REAL BAGGER” and “Choo Chewing.” He also recruits AgnsBill for “33 Zips” and fellow Florida rapper Luh Tyler for “DND,” before closing things out with “Always Been a Suspect.”
And while listeners may have their own favorites, Breeze already knows which record represents him best. The quickly rising star revealed to Baller Alert that “Always Been a Suspect” takes the top spot on his personal ranking.
“It’s fast-paced and gangsta, definitely the most lyrical song and the most true to my essence,” he explained.
His second favorite is “DND,” which he called a definite “standout” on the project. It’s a revealing choice. While collaborations with familiar names can help draw attention to a release, Breeze is particularly proud of the record that captures his own identity as a rapper. With only six songs, “Non-Fiction” doesn’t waste time getting to the point.
Meanwhile, BigXthaPlug is making a return to the sound that helped put Dallas rap back in the national conversation. His fourth studio album, “Better Over Time,” arrived October 30 with 18 tracks through 600 Entertainment and UnitedMasters. After exploring country influences on 2025’s ” Hope You’re Happy, BigX is shifting his focus back toward Southern hip-hop.
However, the guest list shows he’s not abandoning the versatility that expanded his audience. GloRilla appears on “FAF,” Lil Yachty and Babyface Ray link up on “BELIEVE,” and Leon Thomas brings his vocals to “NO LIMIT.” Elsewhere, Ava Max joins him for “BURN,” Belly Gang Kushington appears on “LITE,” and Fridayy contributes to “HEAL ME.” Ro$ama and Loe Shimmy also make appearances.
Made to order and shipped to your door.
Across the project, BigX balances his trademark commanding delivery with reflections on success, loyalty, family, and the cost of leveling up. Songs like “STAND ON BUSINESS,” “PEACE OF MIND,” and “DOUBTED ME” fit an album built around the idea that growth doesn’t erase where you started.
Then there’s Young Nudy, who clearly isn’t interested in reinventing himself just because another release date rolled around.
His latest album, “Just Doin Me,” brings the East Atlanta rapper’s laid-back delivery back over sinister, unpredictable trap production. The project follows 2025’s “Paradise” and includes tracks such as “Hits,” “Chicken Tender,” “Nonstop,” and “War.”
Nudy also reunites with 21 Savage on “Spinnin,” while JID appears on “Judy” and Fatt Smaxk joins him for “Stars In My Car.” Production contributors include Coupe, FnZ, and Kid Hazel.
With “Who Dat Is” and “Broke [expletive]” already giving fans a taste of the project, “Just Doin Me” doubles down on the offbeat flows and unapologetic personality that made Nudy a staple in Atlanta’s rap scene.
