Nipsey Hussle Calls Out Tekashi69 On Rick Ross’ Song, “Rich Lifestyle”

On Friday, Rick Ross released his highly anticipated album, “Port of Miami 2,” which includes features with the best of the best in hip-hop. From Drake, who he said was an ‘incredible lyricist,’ and Denzel Curry, who Ross said was an ‘incredible performer,’ to Meek Mill, Pusha T, Lil Wayne, Pusha T and more. But, one of the most notable album appearances was the late Nipsey Hussle, who contributed to the record, “Rich Lifestyle.”

In an interview with Rap Rotation, the Biggest Boss opened up about his relationship with Hussle and how the collaboration came about, saying, “Me, first meeting Nipsey many, many moons ago, I knew just looking in his eyes he understood his direction.” 

“He was one of the first artists that I stood next to and had a conversation, and he didn’t look down on his situation of being independent,” Ross continued. “He already had a plan, an idea. He’s on a record titled, ‘Rich Lifestyle’ and basically what we talking about is true wealth, longevity, putting yourself in a position where you’re not just carrying yourself, not just your household, but your entire team – everybody who’s a part of your dream.” 

Upon the release of the song, fans honed in on Hussle’s lyrics and quickly highlighted the fact that Hussle called out Tekashi69 over his legal issues. 

“How many niggas on your payroll,” Hussle rapped. “Rich gang bangers, y’all ain’t even know they make those. Double caseloads, push buttons, I got say-so.” 

“When it’s war time, never lay low, y’all play roles,” he continued. “I can’t name a fake nigga that was not exposed. How y’all niggas so surprised that Tekashi told? Ain’t a street nigga ‘less you got a code. Mines one comma, nigga, followed by a lot of O’s.” 

Unfortunately, just months before the release of the song, Hussle was tragically gunned down in his hometown of Los Angeles. Our thoughts and prayers remain with Hussle’s family.
