Diddy may be living up to his bad boy persona behind bars, and now he has added a few extra weeks to his sentence.
The mogul’s scheduled release from Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute has been officially moved from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028.
Page Six broke the news, and while federal authorities haven’t confirmed the reason for the delay, the timing lines up with reports that Diddy broke multiple prison rules. Last week, it was widely reported that he got into hot water for allegedly brewing a homemade alcoholic drink using fermented sugar, Fanta soda, and apples.
Adding to the trouble, CBS News exclusively revealed that Diddy allegedly made a prohibited three-way phone call just days before his transfer to the New Jersey facility. His team insists it was a protected legal call and that he was unaware such calls weren’t allowed due to not receiving the prison’s orientation handbook.
“As with any high-profile individual in a new environment, there will be many rumors and exaggerated stories throughout his time there—most of them untrue,” Diddy’s rep shared last week. “We ask that people give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth.”
Diddy was sentenced to four years and two months in July after being convicted of two counts related to transporting individuals for prostitution. He was acquitted on the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
He is also required to pay a $500,000 fine and complete mental health and substance abuse programs as part of his sentence.
Diddy’s team continues to work to secure an earlier release date, but for now, he will wait a bit longer.
