Lakers Nick Young is playing no games when it comes to allegations that he sexually harassed a woman and her mother at a red light over the weekend.
Earlier this week a woman by the name of Alexis Jones took to social media to blast 4 men in a jeep for making obscene comments and gestures at her and her mother while stopped at a red light. At first, Alexis says that she did not know who the men were, but when she posted their pictures on social media, her followers quickly identified two of the men as Jordan Clarkson and Nick Young.
With the help of social media, it appears Young has caught Alexis in a lie. Apparently Nick Young and Alexis both went to USC and a fan of Swaggy’s dug up old footage of Alexis interviewing the star player. The video, which was uploaded to YouTube in 2006, features Alexis chronicling the life of Young and how he became a USC star. Kind of hard to say you didn’t know who Nick Young was when you basically did an oral report about him while you two were in school.
“But nobody knows me..the world we live in,” Young tweeted after discovering the video. “I really just hate the fact that people can just say anything about a public figure and we as athletes … etc just have to take it”
He continued, “I told you when you know who you are and got good (God) on your side nothing can stop you.”
What made the story sketchy from the beginning is the fact that Alexis works closely with NBA players, teaching them about sexual harassment. She had been trying to get her program, “ProtectHer” to the Lakers and apparently after this incident, the Lakers finally began to listen. Will this change their minds? Just because she was familiar with Young, does it mean he didn’t do what she said he did? Â We will just have to wait for the outcome.
