A public back and forth between TLC’s Chilli and Ashley, the daughter of Pebbles and LA Reid, was making headlines in early November 2013 following the airing of VH1’s TLC biopic, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.
Ashley was unhappy with how her mother Pebbles was portrayed in the film. She posted several messages on Twitter aimed at Chilli, including one saying she could not wait to see her around. She then went on her UStream channel to explain what she meant, making it clear she was angry and wanted a confrontation.
Chilli had already addressed the dispute in comments to JasmineBrand, posted on November 4, 2013. Speaking about the film’s depiction of events, she said, “We didn’t make up these things.” In the reporting we reviewed, Chilli did not respond to Ashley’s UStream remarks.
Family feelings run deep when real people see their lives played out on screen, and both sides clearly have strong opinions about what the movie got right and wrong. Everyone involved is entitled to their view of their own story, and we will pass along anything new they decide to share publicly.
