With the countdown now at just four days, the energy surrounding this project is high. Many industry insiders are calling this his most pivotal body of work since “Views” in 2016, especially following the rap beef that dominated the rap scene in 2024.
After being the target of a literal industry wide pile on last year, fans have been waiting to see how the Canadian megastar would respond. It looks like the wait for answers and diss tracks, is almost over.
According to Charlamagne Tha God, Drake isn’t holding back, and is targeting specific names in the industry.
During Tuesday morning’s broadcast of “The Breakfast Club,” Charlamagne revealed that he has inside information regarding who Drake is aiming at. Specifically, he warned that A$AP Rocky and DJ Khaled should prepare themselves for some direct heat.
“Khaled you need to be on edge too, you and A$AP Rocky, y’all getting direct shots on the project,” Charlamagne said. “Khaled, you might’ve wanted to keep some of that weight on.”
While the radio host didn’t disclose his sources, he seemed confident in the intel. He also shed light on some of the album’s rollout logistics, claiming that recent sightings of Drake filming at the CN Tower in Toronto were actually for a pre-recorded livestream titled “ICEMAN” Episode 4, which is expected to air just before the album drops.
The surprises don’t stop at the diss tracks. Charlamagne also dropped a bombshell regarding the album’s sonic direction, claiming that Karol G is a featured guest and that Reggaeton will be a recurring theme throughout the project.
As Friday approaches, the OVO camp is expected to ramp up the promo. Whether Charlamagne’s predictions about the features and the “direct shots” are 100% accurate remains to be seen, but one thing is certain, the rap world can’t wait until “ICEMAN” finally touches down.
