The Cracker and His Barrel Is Back After Cries About Logo Change

Cracker Barrel found itself in trouble this week after trying to update its logo. The restaurant chain decided to modernize its branding by removing the famous Old Timer, the man sitting in a chair next to the barrel. The move was supposed to feel fresh and current, but instead it sparked a huge backlash.

Loyal customers immediately spoke out online, calling the redesign a mistake that erased the character and tradition people connected with. The response was not just about feelings. The stock market reacted too, with Cracker Barrel losing close to one hundred million dollars in value in only a few days.

By August 26, the company admitted it got it wrong and announced that the Old Timer would return to the logo. In its statement, Cracker Barrel said it wanted to listen to its customers and keep the sense of country hospitality that people have always loved about the brand.

Even Donald Trump commented on the controversy, urging Cracker Barrel to stick with tradition and calling the decision to return to the old logo a win for its customer base.
