BET is tapping Damon Dash to bring raw, unfiltered conversations to the screen with a new series centered on the voices that helped shape culture from the ground up.
The network announced the greenlight of “OG STORIES,” an original conversation series set to premiere in spring 2026. Hosted and created by the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder, the project focuses on cultural architects, entrepreneurs, and street legends who built their success from scratch. Through cinematic visuals and candid dialogue, Dash sits down with longtime peers to discuss survival, business, and the mindset required to turn struggle into legacy.
Dash, a record executive, producer, director, and entrepreneur, built his reputation as one of hip-hop’s earliest independent-minded moguls. As co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records alongside Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, he helped launch a wave of artist-driven business ventures that expanded beyond music into film, fashion, and media.
“I want to thank BET, Louis Carr, and Brian Rikuda for believing in the vision and giving this show a home,” said Damon Dash. “OG STORIES is really MY Paid in Full, a depiction of real life and real people I know. These are friends and peers who lived this, built something out of nothing, and earned the lessons that come with it. This series is about telling those stories the way they actually happened.”
The series arrives as Dash continues navigating high-profile legal battles tied to past business disputes. A federal case involving his planned NFT sale tied to Jay-Z’s debut album “Reasonable Doubt” was ultimately settled, leaving Roc-A-Fella shareholders free to sell their ownership stakes in the label while maintaining the company’s control of the album’s rights.
Despite years of lawsuits and financial pressure, Dash has remained active across film and media ventures. Now, with “OG STORIES,” he returns to storytelling, spotlighting the hustlers, innovators, and bosses whose experiences shaped the culture long before social media made their journeys visible.
