Drake premiered his “FOMO” film Tuesday night in Toronto, debuting nine new songs and confirming that he’s going on a world tour in 2027.

“Fear of Missing Out” runs just over an hour, and Drake called it his “not so short film.” It arrived only four months after he dropped three albums at once in May: “Iceman,” “Maid of Honour” and “Habibti.” Anybody hoping to rewatch it later is out of luck, though. Drake set the film to private on his YouTube page after it aired, so fans have been piecing it together from clips posted by streamers.The music is the main reason people tuned in. The biggest surprise is his long-teased song with Don Toliver, which is tentatively titled “Cold Shoulder.” The two had been dropping hints for months, and the speculation picked up in August when Drake joined Don onstage at his OCTANE World Tour stop in Toronto.
Don also appears on Drake’s version of Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” which fans finally got to hear in full. Drake has been open about being an “Ella Fella,” and he went to one of her concerts earlier this month. His version takes her country hit, works it into the hook, and slows it into an R&B record.The country phase does not stop there. Another unreleased song has Drake over electric guitar, reflecting on the vices that have taken a toll on his life.
Yeat shows up on “Miss My Dawgs,” which opens with strings and looks back at friendships that get harder to hold onto once fame sets in. The visual turns into a trip through Drake’s career, with scenes from the sets of “God’s Plan,” “Hotline Bling,” “Started From the Bottom,” “Headlines,” and “Toosie Slide.” It also shows the restaurant where he shot the “Take Care” album cover.
PartyNextDoor, his OVO labelmate, joins him on a smooth late-night track from the vault. It is the first new music from the pair since their joint album “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U” about a year and a half ago. Drake also gave “Classic” from “Habibti” an extended, slowed-down outro.
The ending comes full circle. Drake stands on a set built to look exactly like the “Hotline Bling” video until a stagehand walks in with a stepladder, and Drake climbs down and walks off. The credits then roll over one more unreleased song, and this one has an edge. Drake raps about his circle getting smaller and squaring up with his critics, a sharp turn from the summer energy of the rest of the film.The Drake FOMO film had no shortage of famous faces either. Kevin Durant, Sexyy Red, Winnie Harlow, Stunna Sandy and Lena the Plug all appear, along with Drake’s mom and a woman he calls his “goth baddie.
The biggest news came off camera. At the Toronto premiere, Drake told CTV’s etalk that he’ll be on the road next year. “Obviously, tour is coming, and there’s other things on the horizon, some big shows,” he said. “We’ll be out 2027 to see everybody again across the world.”
It will be his first North American tour since It’s All a Blur, which ran from July 2023 to April 2024 with J. Cole and 21 Savage joining him on different legs. Drake has not yet announced dates, cities, venues, opening acts, or a name for the 2027 tour. As of Wednesday afternoon, Drake had made the “FOMO” film private on YouTube, though it’s unclear why.
