The situation between Ed Hartwell and Keshia Knight Pulliam has played out publicly this week, with each side sharing a different account of the end of their short marriage.
It began with Hartwell’s request for a paternity test related to Keshia’s pregnancy. She responded publicly, saying that she did not do anything wrong and that Hartwell was the one who was unfaithful early in the marriage. Hartwell has denied that and, according to his comments, believes she overstated the story.
In a new interview with Page Six, Hartwell said the marriage broke down after about two months because of jealousy, disagreements and mutual suspicions. He said one of the biggest sources of tension was starting a family. According to Hartwell, Keshia wanted a baby right away, while he felt the couple should wait and focus on each other since they married quickly.
Hartwell told Page Six he asked for the paternity test because he wanted to be sure of the facts. “I can’t say she was unfaithful,” he said, adding that he simply wants to confirm the child is his. “If it’s mine, I’ma love it to death,” he said.
Keshia has not agreed with his account, and she has said the opposite regarding the infidelity claims. Both sides have offered only their own versions, so what really happened between them remains their private matter.
