Federal officials are calling a recent Georgia raid a major strike against drug trafficking after uncovering one of the largest fentanyl seizures in the state. The investigation centers on FBG Casino, the brother of rapper Future, who is now facing a stack of federal charges tied to the operation.
FBI and DEA Raid Georgia Airbnb
Authorities say the raid took place on Friday, November 14, when FBI and DEA agents entered an Airbnb in Forest Park. FBG Casino, whose legal name is Rico Deville Buice, was inside the rental along with co defendant David Estevan Montillo Diaz.
Prosecutors say Buice tried to run through a side door but agents stopped him before he could escape.
21 Kilos of Fentanyl and Hundreds of Thousands in Cash Found
Inside the home, agents found a massive amount of fentanyl and money. The search uncovered 21 kilograms of fentanyl, including at least one brick wrapped in packaging with a Louis Vuitton logo. They also located three hundred thousand dollars inside a cardboard box and eighty thousand dollars stuffed inside a Goyard bag believed to belong to Buice. Investigators believe the bag matches one shown on his Instagram page. Agents say Buice also had four thousand dollars in cash in his pocket at the time of the arrest.
Authorities believe the evidence shows a drug transaction happening inside the Airbnb. Prosecutors say the circumstances strongly suggest Diaz was in the process of selling the fentanyl to Buice when the task force entered the property.
Federal Agents Call Bust a Major Win
Law enforcement officials applauded the coordinated effort behind the raid.
“This operation is an example of the power of the Task Force in disrupting deadly drug trafficking operations,” said Paul Brown, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta. “The seizure of 21 kilograms of fentanyl and over 380 thousand dollars in drug proceeds is a direct hit to those who seek to poison our communities. The FBI, in partnership with our law enforcement colleagues, will relentlessly pursue these criminals and hold them accountable.”
Prosecutors Push to Keep FBG Casino in Custody
Federal prosecutors want Buice held without bond. They argue the charges are severe enough to justify no release. The trafficking conspiracy he is accused of carries a possible sentence of life in prison. Prosecutors also claim there is a serious risk he might flee if released. They accuse Buice of lying about his income, pointing to his claim that he earns two thousand one hundred sixty six dollars a month as a studio manager while staying in a four million dollar home and owning multiple luxury cars, including a Mercedes and a BMW.
Case Still Developing
The case is still unfolding. Buice will remain in custody as prosecutors continue building their argument against him. The fentanyl seizure is being described as one of the most significant in the region and marks a major moment in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking operations in Georgia.
