Jason Lee stays busy building media, producing content, and running his growing platform. Still, the Hollywood Unlocked founder says his quiet moments look a lot simpler than people may expect. During a red carpet conversation with Baller Alert at the NAACP Image Awards, Lee opened up about how he spends time when the cameras are off.

For Lee, downtime means slowing life down and getting honest with himself.

“Hanging out with my dogs, talking to my therapist about why I’m single, looking at places to travel, wondering why I’m single.” The media personality laughed while listing his routine, yet the answer also reflected a more reflective side of his life.

He also shared that his mindset about being everywhere has shifted as his career has grown.

“You know, I enjoy just relaxing. I used to always feel like I had to be everywhere. I don’t feel like I need to be anywhere anymore.” Still, Lee said the NAACP Image Awards was one place he truly wanted to show up. “But tonight I wanted to be here because I think it’s important.”

The conversation also turned to vulnerability and emotional honesty among Black men. When asked how he would like to be “loved on,” Lee answered the question with sincerity.

“You know, I think just genuinely appreciate it because I’m a very loving person. I think that in our culture, it’s very challenging, especially for Black men, to show their feelings. And I think more than ever, we have to be true to who we are and true to how we feel.”
