Yung Miami is getting some heavy feelings off her chest about former City Girls partner JT, and her latest song reveals there may be more hurt behind their fallout than fans ever realized.

The Miami rapper released her highly anticipated debut solo album, “Watch Dis!” on Friday, October 23, and one track in particular is already grabbing attention. Titled “Dear JT,” the emotional record finds Caresha Brownlee reflecting on her broken friendship with the woman she once considered a sister.

Rather than avoiding their complicated history, Miami addresses the public drama, lingering disappointment, and missed opportunities that followed their separation.

“Letter to my friend ’cause I know they got a narrative/Fallin’ out with my sister in public, so embarrassing,” Miami raps on the song. “Now we ain’t seeing eye to eye, I wonder why/When you was dead wrong, I used to act blind.”

That last line is especially revealing, as Miami suggests she previously overlooked things JT did wrong to protect their relationship. While she doesn’t explain exactly what happened behind the scenes, her lyrics make it clear that their issues went deeper than what fans witnessed online.

Miami also acknowledges the history they could have continued making together before their relationship took a different direction.

“Sis, we could’ve made history/And we done grew apart, now that’s no more.”

For longtime City Girls supporters, the lyrics hit differently considering everything the two women experienced together.

Miami and JT rose to fame as the City Girls, becoming one of hip-hop’s most recognizable female rap duos with records like “Act Up,” “Twerk,” and “Pussy Talk.” Their chemistry helped establish them as major voices in female rap, while their friendship became a significant part of their public image.

Miami also kept the group’s momentum going while JT served a federal prison sentence early in their career.

However, their relationship appeared increasingly strained as both women began pursuing separate opportunities.

Things became particularly messy in April 2024 when Miami and JT exchanged accusations on social media, exposing tension that had previously been the subject of speculation.

Later that year, the duo confirmed they were moving forward independently following the disappointing reception of their 2023 album, “RAW.”

At the time, Miami explained that they had reached different stages in their personal and professional lives. JT was building her individual career, while Miami was developing her own projects, including her popular interview platform, “Caresha Please.’

Although the breakup initially appeared to be a professional decision, “Dear JT” suggests Miami is still processing the emotional side of losing someone who had been so important to her.

Interestingly, Miami recently revealed that she and JT haven’t spoken in approximately two years.

During an October interview with FlyGuyDC, she recalled their last conversation taking place around JT’s birthday. When questioned about whether the City Girls could eventually reunite, Miami responded, “Inshallah,” meaning God willing.

That response left some hope for supporters who have been waiting to see the former friends reconnect.

Meanwhile, “Watch Dis!” represents a major new chapter for Miami. The 21-track album includes collaborations with Travis Scott, Summer Walker, Quavo, G Herbo, Rick Ross, Trina, and Trick Daddy, among others.

Her solo success has also been gaining momentum following the popularity of “Spend Dat,” which reached the Billboard Hot 100’s top 20.

Still, “Dear JT” shows a more vulnerable side of the rapper as she revisits a friendship that helped shape her career.
