Yung Miami nearly broke down in tears in her hotel room as the release of her debut solo album, “Watch Dis,” finally approached. “It’s like tears of joy,” she said. “I feel like people gonna like it because I got taste… I know they’re gonna love it.”The “Watch Dis” album officially arrives Friday, October 23, 2026, marking Yung Miami’s first full studio project without her former City Girls partner, JT. For Caresha Brownlee, the release represents an opportunity to show listeners what she can deliver entirely on her own.
According to Pitchfork, the City Girls went their separate ways in 2024 to pursue individual careers. The duo previously released projects including their 2023 album, “RAW,” before shifting their attention toward solo ventures.
While JT pursued her own musical direction, Miami continued building her presence in entertainment through her popular interview platform, “Caresha Please,” alongside her music career.
Her transition hasn’t been without challenges. In the promotional trailer announcing “Watch Dis,” Miami addressed the harsh criticism she experienced while attempting to establish herself outside the group. The video included clips of public criticism before showing her reflecting on the emotional struggles she faced while recording.
Still, Miami entered 2026 with renewed momentum.
According to Universal Music, her single “Spend Dat” became her first solo Top 20 entry on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 17. The record also climbed to No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart, giving the Miami native a major commercial breakthrough ahead of her debut.
She followed that success with “F You,” produced by London On Da Track, and “2008,” produced by J White, offering listeners different sides of her musical identity.
The album also brings together several major names in hip hop and R&B.
Per the updated tracklist published by Pitchfork on October 21, the 21-track project includes collaborations with Travis Scott, Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller, Quavo, G Herbo, and Pleasure P.
Miami also keeps her hometown connections front and center with “Dade County,” featuring Rick Ross, Trina, and Trick Daddy. The project includes two versions of “Spend Dat,” one featuring Lil Baby and Kodak Black and an international remix featuring Davido, Shenseea, and Vybz Kartel.
Beyond the collaborations, Miami wants listeners to hear more of her personality and experiences.
During an October 15 interview with Audacy’s V-103, she explained that recording as a solo artist allows her to express herself differently than she could while working within a group.
With the album scheduled for October 23, Caresha is preparing to share the music she believes her day ones will appreciate.
