In the latest turn of events, Lil Nas X walked out of Van Nuys jail on Monday, August 25th, 2025, after posting a $75,000 bail. He’d pleaded not guilty to four felony charges tied to a bizarre early morning incident. The counts include three charges of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. The arraignment featured the rapper arriving in blue jail attire, quietly making his plea in court before bouncing from custody under set conditions.

The trouble began on Thursday, August 21st, when he was found wandering Ventura Boulevard nearly naked—sporting only underwear and cowboy boots. Authorities believe he may have assaulted officers during the encounter, prompting a trip to the hospital due to a suspected overdose.

When asked about the incident in court, his attorney, Christy O’Connor, affirmed that Lil Nas X has no history of drug abuse and described the episode as “an aberration.” His father added a plea for compassion, urging supporters to “pray for him” and not define him by his worst moment.

As part of his release terms, Lil Nas X must attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings and enroll in an outpatient treatment or rehab program. His next court date is scheduled for September 15th.
