Former “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Mia Thornton is back in court headlines, and this time it’s over rent.
According to court documents filed on March 18, the former reality star is being sued for allegedly failing to pay $2,859 in rent for the month of March. The filing also states that additional fees have pushed the total balance to nearly $3,500. Representatives for Thornton have not responded publicly to the claim.
This latest case lands while Thornton is still dealing with a separate criminal matter. She was arrested four months ago on felony theft charges tied to allegations that more than $11,000 worth of furniture was taken from a rental property in Atlanta. Police reports state the items included televisions, radios, and other household electronics. She was taken into custody without incident and processed at the Fulton County Jail.
Body camera footage later captured Thornton acknowledging that she knew there was a warrant out for her arrest.
However, this is not the first time housing issues have surfaced. Prior to her arrest, a property management company filed an eviction lawsuit claiming she failed to pay rent on a three-bedroom Atlanta unit. That complaint sought over $5,000 in past due rent plus ongoing monthly charges.
Thornton announced she was leaving the Potomac franchise in April 2025, shortly after the Season 9 reunion following four seasons on the series.
