NLE Choppa is single again after his fiancée, Erica Ravén, called off their engagement and announced that their relationship is over.
Ravén announced Thursday, August 6, that she and the Memphis rapper, whose real name is Bryson Potts, had ended their relationship and engagement. Speaking directly to followers in a video posted to her Instagram account, Ravén confirmed she was moving forward alone.“People have been asking are me and Bryson still together,” she said. “I just wanted to tell y’all we are no longer together. I am single. I did the best to be the best Beyoncé. And I showed up as much as I can. I gave as much love as I can. But sometimes it’s just not enough. So, I will be moving forward by my lonesome, focusing on myself.”
She also said there was no ill will between them.
The breakup represents a dramatic reversal for a relationship that looked increasingly serious less than a year ago. Speculation surrounding NLE and Ravén began in fall 2025 after romantic social media posts began circulating. By December, speculation had turned into an engagement.
NLE posted photos of himself proposing to Ravén and showing off her ring. He captioned the moment, “Now That’s Gangsta.”
The split becomes more interesting when viewed against how publicly he embraced the engagement afterward. In February 2026, a viral post described Ravén as his new artist after footage showed them kissing. NLE jumped into the conversation himself with a correction: “Make sure you add fiancé[e] next time.”
At that point, there was little ambiguity about how he wanted the relationship described.
Then came the part of their romance that makes Ravén’s breakup announcement hit differently.
In April, NLE faced questions after a livestream showed him interacting with multiple women while out at a nightclub with Ravén. Instead of claiming the women were simply fans or denying what viewers saw, NLE said Ravén was fully aware of the situation.
“Keep in mind we set the intentions to bring [someone] back with us,” he wrote.
He added, “I was communicating for US. Thank U!”
Ravén also publicly presented the couple as united at the time.
That detail creates the real twist in the latest breakup. There is currently no evidence that Ravén ended the engagement because NLE was secretly seeing someone else. What is documented, however, is that their relationship allowed boundaries that looked different from a traditional engagement.
It is also not the first time the rapper’s ideas about commitment have become part of a breakup conversation.
One of NLE’s most public previous relationships was with Marissa Da’Nae. The pair experienced a devastating loss together in 2022 when Da’Nae suffered a miscarriage while they were expecting a son named Seven Da’Shun Potts. Da’Nae publicly discussed the loss while thanking NLE for supporting her through it. Months later, the romance was over.
In September 2022, NLE publicly announced that he was single. Da’Nae later became emotional while discussing the split publicly.
Their story did not end there. NLE and Da’Nae welcomed their son, ChoZen Wone Da’Shun Potts, on August 16, 2023.
Before Da’Nae, NLE had also been involved with Mariah, the mother of his daughter Clover. The baby girl was born June 20, 2020.
Those relationships make the Ravén chapter stand apart.
The earlier romances became permanently connected to NLE through fatherhood. Ravén appeared to represent something different: a public engagement, a ring, and a potential walk down the aisle.
Yet the same question that has surfaced elsewhere in his dating life eventually returned. How does NLE balance commitment with the freedom he appears to value inside relationships?
Ravén has not publicly laid out one explosive allegation or pointed to one dramatic incident as the reason she walked away. Instead, her own words make the ending sound more personal.
For a rapper whose relationships have repeatedly unfolded in front of millions, that may be the biggest twist of all. The latest NLE Choppa breakup did not need a public war to become another complicated chapter in his love life. This time, the woman he planned to marry simply decided she was done trying.
